Cheryl Kenney
President of Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc.
and Hearing Instrument Specialist

Cheryl Kenney Cheryl Kenney has been a Hearing Instrument Specialist for over a decade in New Hampshire. She initially became interested in hearing and hearing aids when a family friend faced decisions about hearing loss and appropriate hearing healthcare. Cheryl went on to establish Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. in 1995.

Ms. Kenney's years as both a Health and Special Education teacher coupled with eight years of military service as an Army Reserve Medic prepared her for the professional hearing healthcare she now provides her patients. Veterans at the White River Junction VA Hospital were early recipients of her hearing testing services.

Cheryl was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from Moorhead State University (MN) and has continued her education with coursework at University of New Hampshire as well as hearing instrument manufacturers' seminars. The International Hearing Society, which awarded Ms. Kenney board certification as a Hearing Instrument Specialist, is another resource for various on-going training opportunities.

 

Mary Louise Brozena, AuD
Dr. of Audiology

Dr. Mary Louise Brozena Mary Louise Brozena has been an audiologist in Seacoast and southern New Hampshire since 1991. She primarily serves the Rochester and Exeter offices. Appointments may be scheduled with her in Plymouth, as well.

Prior to becoming an audiologist in the early 1990's, Dr. Brozena was a teacher for deaf and hard of hearing children, and maintains an interest in pediatric diagnostics and hearing aid dispensing along with her work with adults. Her background includes extensive training and hands-on experience from various manufacturers in the hearing instrument industry. She has degrees in both mathematics education and deaf education, and received her Masters degree in Audiology from Southern Connecticut State University and her Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences.

 

Dr. Katie Harrington, AuD, CCC-A
Dr. of Audiology

Dr. Katie Harrington Dr. Katie Harrington is originally from Shelburne, Vermont. She studied at the University of Rochester majoring in Brain and Cognitive Sciences prior to transferring to Elmira College in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Katie continued her desire for education within audiology at Northeastern University, and earned her Au.D. in 2009. Dr. Harrington completed her fourth year residency at the Universityof Rhode Island and provided audiological and hearing aid services to URIs large patient base, as well as trained graduate students in the clinical practice of audiology. She has won multiple awards from Northeastern University for her clinical audiological skills. Dr. Harrington is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) as well as the America Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She came to us from a Manchester practice and currently resides in Ashland, NH. Dr. Harrington will be seeing patients in Plymouth and Kendal.

 

Laura Costa, M.A., CCC-A

Laura Costa Laura Costa is a graduate of Western Michigan University, receiving her Master of Arts Degree in 1996. She has worked in both private and corporate hearing health care clinics since then. At a young age, Laura had close friends that were deaf and hearing impaired. This early exposure motivated her to choose a career in audiology, where she has the opportunity to positively impact peoplesą lives on a daily basis to improve their hearing and communication abilities. Advancements in hearing aid, assistive listening devices, cochlear implant technology and aural rehabilitation continue to inspire her to find new ways to meet her patients hearing health needs, and exceed their rehabilitative expectations.

Laura joined Sound Advice as a clinical audiologist in March of 2010, after moving from Michigan to New Hampshire with her family. Mrs. Costa sees patients in the New London and new Keene offices. She enjoys helping the pediatric through geriatric hearing impaired population, with advanced technology hearing instruments and aural rehabilitation therapy as her areas of special interest and expertise.

 

Linda McDermott, LPN, HIS
Hearing Instrument Specialist

Linda McDermott Linda McDermott has provided hearing testing, hearing instrument dispensing, and follow-up services for Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. since 2005. Her base of operations is the newly-renovated and recently reopened New London location at Scytheville Row, and she routinely provides services to Hanover residents living at Kendal Community.

Ms. McDermott's background includes training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her experience as a resident assistant at an assisted living facility sparked her interest in working with older patients, especially those with memory impairments. Following her specialized training, she returned to the same facility to provide nursing care for the residents.

For over 15 years, Linda has shown special understanding of the needs of her patients, and has brought this heightened level of caring and service to the Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. family.

 

Patricia "Trisha" Jabre, HIS
Hearing Instrument Specialist

Trisha Patricia Jabre has been providing hearing aid services in Seacoast and southern New Hampshire for over a decade. She joined Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. in January 2009 as a state registered Hearing Instrument Specialist. Her experience with a wide range of hearing instruments makes her a tremendous asset to Sound Advice. Appointments may be scheduled with her in our Rochester and Exeter offices.

Trisha brings not only her years of experience working with all levels of hearing instrument technology, but also a deep commitment to providing the level of customer care that Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. is built on.
